An oath or affirmation is a notarial act in which the notary administers a solemn promise regardin the truthfulness of a statement. Unlike a jurat, this act does not require the signer to sign a document in the notary’s presence. In compliance with Indiana law (IC 33-42-14), fees are charged per notarial act.
